Well, I'm here at Vienna airport waiting for my plane to Paris. On Thursday evening I get a plane to Madrid and on Friday evening I get to go home. I got to Vienna Sunday evening. My trip to Paris is for a meeting on Thursday but I figured it was better to go direct than go home for one night only. There was something else it would have been useful to attend in Brussels on Wednesday but I figured that three European capital cities in one week was enough. The Austrian presidency of the EU helpfully put a conference on "European Security Research" on top of the East-West Institute annual security conference (which was timetabled over eighteen months ago, the Austrian Presidency timetabling this event in November).

Due to a strangeness of one-way ticket prices, all my travel legs are business class, though, hence free wifi access in the Business Class Lounge at Vienna airport allowing me to check my email and update my LJ.

PS, congrats to surliminal on gaining a chair at Southampton - I expect to see much more of her when she moves there in the autumn.

You could have thrown in the Vienna conf on digital rts that Burkhard and Judith Rauhofer were just at too! Slacker :-)
