Finally, we might actually see some real negotiations from the employers. UCEA, the organisation representing the universities in national bargaining, have agreed to talks at ACAS.
Just because they've agreed to meet at ACAS, doesn't mean the dispute will be resolved. It's a necessary step for the employers to negotiate, but we thought they might negotiate sensibly at the beginning of the month and they offered as another derisory rise, only over three years instead of two. Wait and see. My approach to this is that I will make reasonable efforts to make the deadlines once the dispute is resolved, but I will neither pre-judge negotiations nor kill myself catching up.
