Current Reading/Watching
Mar. 23rd, 2022 04:38 pmReading: I finished Zen Cho's second Sorceror to the Crown book. I struggled a bit to have this one keep my interest. I'm not sure why, but I just kept getting distracted. Oddly, I kept getting a feeling that it was similar in some indefinable way to Diana Wynne Jones Howl/Sophie books. Not really sure why but it was just a feeling. They're OK, but nothing to write home about, I think.
Next up is Rachel Caine's Walking Stiff. I enjoyed some of her earlier books (Weather Warden series) and these SF non-brain-eating zombie semi-thriller seem like they might be fun. Giving them a go (two books and a novella, I think).
Watching: Still Agents of SHIELD season 4 (nearly finished) with $DAUGHTER. Finished Star Trek Discovery Season 4, following Star Trek Picard as it comes out (ep. 3 queued). Starting Doom Patrol season 3 which I'd not felt like until recently. Watched Spider-Man 2 with the family after the re-appearance of Tobey Maguire in No Way Home reignited $DAUGHTER's interest (we'd stalled in SM-2 and I've never actually seen SM-3 or AMS-1/2 myself). We'll probably watch the others in the coming few weekends.
