Reading

As noted before, I struggled to finish Hurley's Nox trilogy, but had started Hochu's Library of the Dead. That was a lot of fun, though I understand [personal profile] vivdunstan's issue with the brief descent into body horror halfway through. That was a bit of a tonal shock, but it only lasted about 20 pages, and I'd had her warning that it was coming, but that it was brief, so it didn't put me off. This is a first published novel, so these sorts of things will happen, though I think her editor should have asked for it to be toned down a bit to keep the mis-en-scene more consistent. I love the

souped-up milk float chasing the magically enhanced (two-people in a one person) wheelchair section.

So, I raced through that one and then decided to go for a catch-up re-read/new book series and started V. E. Schwab's A Darker Shade of Magic. I've read the first two books and there's now a third (possibly the completion of a trilogy?) to catch up on.

Watching

Watched the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Fun. I'll keep going with it.

Playing

I've picked up Control again and made progress. I had been avoiding the main thread mission while I tried to complete other side missions, and did finally complete one of the side missions, but failed miserably on the others. These are all expansion missions, though, I think, and are expected to be completed after all or most of the main thread. What I thought was the final stage of the main thread turns out to be a major plot development/resolution, but there are things after it, too (maybe these are more expansions from the original version of the game, maybe not) so I'm now back to enjoying this. With the power-ups I'm getting from the main plot I hope the side missions will become feasible for me (made partial progress on one of them but my combat playing is just not quite up to it).
