Just got back from my sixth CoViD-19 vaccine shot. Another Moderna (four Moderna, one Pfizer, now Moderna again). I had a modest fever reaction to the first four Moderna shots, but not to the Pfizer one, so I'm expecting a slight fever tonight and/or tomorrow. Already feeling a little tired (Friday afternoon feeling) so I'll just try to take it easy.

This shot became available just in time for my first work international travel since the pandemic (I went to Chicon on personal travel last summer but haven't been outside Japan for work since Feb 2020, though I did go to Kyoto in October). Off to Brussels in ten days.

Envy.

Plague island seems to have given up on boosters except for over-75s and clinically vulnerble people. I've had four shots and ain't getting any more (until the government wakes up, smells the coffee, and panics -- I give it six months minimum). You can't even pay to get it privately.

Meanwhile most people aren't masking or distancing: the official government line is "the pandemic's over, get back to work, peasants".

It’s not even all clinically extremely vulnerable who’re getting the Spring Booster. Just the immunosuppressed like me. Though we’re getting our vaccines relatively late in the batch this time around. My 7th Covid vaccine is booked for Dundee in June. Booked by the NHS for me. Sadly my autoimmune brain disease flares for 3 long months after every single Covid vaccine. Has happened 6 times already. But I’m getting it. It could save my life.

Until now masks were supposed to be worn in Scottish health centres and hospitals. That is stopping as of Tuesday coming. Being severely immunosuppressed I’m not ecstatic about this. I have to have regular blood tests …
